Clutch Directory is solid

Last week, I was looking into MCP components and checked out the Clutch Directory. It's really useful for finding integrations. My only small nitpick is I wish they offered more public discount codes, not just for annual billing or private invites.

Just started playing around with the Visual Builder. Seems pretty intuitive for basic stuff, but wondering about exporting code. Has anyone actually exported a full project from Clutch and used it elsewhere? How clean is the code output?

R RahulK 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I exported a small landing page I built with the Visual Builder last month. The React component export was surprisingly clean. Had to do a little tweaking for my specific setup, but way less than I expected.

Good to know! I was worried it would be super messy.

Any issues with responsiveness after export?

A AmitM 1 month ago
Which framework were you integrating it with, if you don't mind me asking?

D Deepak91 1 month ago
Not tried exporting yet, but I'm curious. Mostly using the Deployment Hosting directly from Clutch for now.

Following this thread for sure.

I've only done individual components, not a whole site. For that, it's pretty solid. The React Component Export feature is a lifesaver for dropping custom UI into existing projects.

D DevPriya 1 month ago
That's exactly what I'm hoping to do with some of my custom components.

Does it keep the styling intact well?

My annual plan for Clutch is coming up for renewal, and the price looks a bit higher than last year. Anyone else notice this? Are there any discounts for annual plans that aren't obvious on the site?

S SaritaJ 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, I got a renewal notice last month and it was a small bump. I think my initial plan had a first-year discount that I forgot about. Worth checking if that's the case for you.

Same thing happened to me with another service.

M MaxP 2 weeks ago
Oh, that makes sense. I probably signed up during some promo.

Sometimes if you contact support, they might offer a loyalty discount, especially if you've been with them for a while. Doesn't hurt to ask!
5
M MaxP 2 weeks ago
Good tip! I'll try that before I renew.

Did that for my internet bill, sometimes works.

I'm still on the free trial. Hoping for a student discount when I upgrade.

T TechieV 2 weeks ago
They do have a student developer discount, check the pricing page footer or their help docs.

Oh, didn't know that! Thanks!

Anyone got a working Clutch discount for the Visual Builder?

C CodeCrusher 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I got an early access credit when I signed up for the beta last year. Not sure if that's still a thing.

Beta is probably over now right?

Yeah, I think so. No luck for me.

Student discount? I heard they have one.

T TechieTina 1 month ago
Is it just for the core platform or includes the Visual Builder?
1
E EduDev 1 month ago
Yeah, student developer discount is real. Gotta verify though.

Check their 'developer plan discount' page. Sometimes they have bundles with the visual builder there.

Thinking of trying the Clutch Visual Builder, worth it for a small team?

R RahulVerma 2 months ago ✓ Best Answer
Definitely try the free trial first. It's pretty good for getting a feel for it without committing.

A AnjaliSingh 2 months ago
Yeah, their trial is actually decent, not super limited.

Good call, I always forget about trials.

We use it for prototypes. Exports React components which is handy. Support was quick when we had a question about custom UI components.
6
P PriyaSharma 2 months ago
Oh, so you can actually get clean code out of it?
6
V VikramKumar 2 months ago
Yeah, not perfect, but very usable starting point.

S SnehaGupta 2 months ago
Depends on your existing tech stack. Integrations can be a bit tricky if you're not on standard stuff.
8
P PriyaSharma 2 months ago
Hmm, good point. We have some older APIs.

Is anyone else having trouble integrating Clutch with their existing tech stack? My API connectors are acting weird.

C ComponentKing 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, their docs on API connectors are a bit light. I ended up just exporting the React components and building my own wrapper around them.
19
C CMS_Master 2 weeks ago
I heard their headless CMS integration is pretty solid though. Maybe that's better?
5
C ComponentKing 2 weeks ago
Depends on your stack I guess. For me, exporting was less headache.
7
S StackOverflowed 2 weeks ago
That's a good idea actually. Might have to go that route.
1
D DataDigger 2 weeks ago
What exactly are you trying to connect? I had some issues with their data integration layer and a custom database, but standard APIs like Stripe worked fine.
3
S StackOverflowed 2 weeks ago
Trying to connect to a legacy CRM. It's a mess.
